From March 31 to April 4, Supernatural proudly participated in the IX European Congress of Mammalogy (ECM9), held in Patras, Greece. Organized by the Hellenic Zoological Society, the European Mammal Foundation, and Mammal Conservation Europe, the congress brought together experts from around the world to explore cutting-edge research and conservation strategies in mammalian biology.
Our team members, Dr. Mirna Mazija and Tea Huten proudly represented Supernatural at the congress. Tea delivered two oral presentations:
- “Are rare species truly rare? Possible causes of data deficiency for several bat species in Croatia”, in collaboration with the Association for Bat Conservation – Tragus.
- “Activity of the endemic Martino’s Dinaric Vole (Dinaromys bogdanovi) and Western Dinaric Vole (Dinaromys longipedis) in Croatia recorded on camera traps”, as part of a project with Oikon Ltd. – Institute of Applied Ecology.
In addition, we contributed to a poster presentation by Oikon Ltd. titled:
“Activity of the Garden Dormouse (Eliomys quercinus) in karst habitats in Croatia captured using camera traps, with recommendations for further monitoring”.
This congress was a fantastic opportunity for sharing knowledge, fostering new partnerships, and pushing forward the critical work of mammal conservation. It brought together researchers and conservationists from around the world, inspiring fresh ideas and solutions for the challenges we face in conservation of mammal species.
